The Second Step announced the election of Stuart Sadick as Board President on April 1, 2010. A member of The Second Step's Board since 2008, Mr. Sadick is the first man to serve as Board President at the organization, which provides a wide array of services for survivors of intimate partner violence and their families.
"Over the past two years, Stuart Sadick has proved a wise and energetic leader and a wonderful ambassador for The Second Step and its work," said Roberta Rosenberg, Executive Director. "I am thrilled to welcome him to the helm of the Board." Ms. Rosenberg also noted that The Second Step will soon announce a new Men's Initiative, aimed at engaging more men in the important work of preventing and educating about domestic violence and raising support for the agency's work with survivors.
Stuart Sadick leads the Global Consulting & Advisory Services sector of the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles. Raised in Worcester, MA, he holds an M.S. in management from MIT's Sloan School and a B.A. from Connecticut College. Mr. Sadick is a past Board President of Massachusetts Citizens for Children and has volunteered for Big Brother and for Recordings for the Blind. He lives with his partner and their six-year-old son in Newton, MA.
