Evening Staff (Part-Time)

The Evening Staff member is responsible for the program, the residents, and the security of the building at night, as well as for keeping a log during that time.

Shifts:  The position will typically fill one or two shifts a week, and/or fill in shifts to cover staff absences.  Shifts run from 5:00 pm. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.  Flexibility is a key component of this position.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Being available to discuss current issues with residents
  • Ensuring that residents follow policies and procedures, including doing chores and following curfew
  • Maintaining a log re: evening occurrences
  • Communicating with Case Manager re: residents and their needs
  • Providing bedtime support to help mothers get their children to bed
  • Welcoming facilitators for any evening group; assisting as needed
  • Supervising and assisting with volunteers
  • Intervening in crises according to protocols, including written follow-up
  • Maintaining building security
  • Attending supervision with Case Manager

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience working in human services, preferably with survivors of domestic violence
  • Flexibility, sense of humor, excellent communication skills
