The Evening Staff member is responsible for the program, the residents, and the security of the building at night, as well as for keeping a log during that time.
Shifts: The position will typically fill one or two shifts a week, and/or fill in shifts to cover staff absences. Shifts run from 5:00 pm. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Flexibility is a key component of this position.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Being available to discuss current issues with residents
- Ensuring that residents follow policies and procedures, including doing chores and following curfew
- Maintaining a log re: evening occurrences
- Communicating with Case Manager re: residents and their needs
- Providing bedtime support to help mothers get their children to bed
- Welcoming facilitators for any evening group; assisting as needed
- Supervising and assisting with volunteers
- Intervening in crises according to protocols, including written follow-up
- Maintaining building security
- Attending supervision with Case Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience working in human services, preferably with survivors of domestic violence
- Flexibility, sense of humor, excellent communication skills
