Step Up to the Plate
October 22, 2005
The Second Step invites you to share an evening with a famed local writer, artist, entertainer, sports figure, medical expert, business leader or other person of note on Saturday, October 22, 2005. In addition, you'll enjoy a delicious dinner in one of Greater Boston’s most beautiful homes. Tickets are $150/person.
Details will be available later this summer. To volunteer your home as a dinner locale, suggest a compelling speaker; join the Committee, or for more information, contact The Second Step at 617-965-2026.

Celebrating Success 2005
April 14, 2005, Newton Marriott Hotel
Celebrating Success is our way of honoring the courageous women who have recently graduated from The Second Step program. During the past year, these women have secured employment and housing in an effort to provide a safe, productive life for themselves and their children. This is never a simple task, given the many years of torment and intimidation that led to this enormous life transition. These women have taken a bold step toward a better life and have worked hard to make it happen. It is inspiring to everyone involved in this process, as well as all those who care about the issue of domestic violence, to participate in an event that celebrates their success.

Step Up to the Arts 2004
On Tuesday, October 26, 2004, two hundred women recognized Domestic Violence Awareness Month by watching a performance of “Flowers aren’t Enough”, a gripping monologue about the insidious effect of domestic violence written and performed by Naomi Ackerman.
